Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How long will it take to receive my Thin Tin?

All orders include Free Delivery by default and we ship via the US Post Office or UPS after the first payment clears. In most instances, you’ll receive your Thin Tin 3-7 business days after you place the order. If that’s too slow, contact us to learn about our paid shipping options.

When will I receive my next subscription Thin Tin?

Monthly subscriptions are set on the day you place your order. If you subscribed on the 11th of the month, each Thin Tin order will be processed on the 11th of subsequent months. If you want to change the delivery date of your order each month, contact us with the details or send an email to team@thin-tins.com

I entered and incorrect address. How can I fix it?

If your mailing is incorrect, simply reply to your order confirmation email and let us know the correct address as soon as you can, but no later than 24 hours after you made the purchase. No refund will be provided if the address is corrected more than 24 hours after purchase.

Why was there no charge for sales tax?

Sales tax is collected in each state when we meet a minimum threshold (number of items sold, revenue collected, or both). If there’s no sales tax collected for the state where we delivered your Thin Tin, we have not reached that threshold yet, but we’re growing so it may happen soon.

Will there be Thin Tins for Kids?

Yes! Creating Thin Tins for Kids is in our product roadmap for 2026. If you want to learn more about our plans, please sign-up for email announcements using the form at the bottom of this page and you’ll be among the first to know when we have updates about new products and more.

How do I cancel my Thin Tins subscription?

We know plans change and we want the exit experience to be as good as every other part of our service. To stop a subscription, go to the “Shop” page, scroll down to “Products” and add the item “End monthly subscription” to your cart, then check-out. It’s free, but this $0 transaction means you’ll get a confirmation receipt.

How can I cancel my order?

If you ordered within the past 24 hours and changed your mind, we offer hassle-free cancellations. Just email us at team@thin-tins.com, and we will refund you as long as the order has not been shipped out.

If you ordered more than 24 hours ago, the order may have been processed and we cannot offer an immediate refund. However, once you receive your order, you have up to 30 days to contact us for a refund minus a cancellation fee. Returned items must be unused and complete. To save shipping costs, we recommend that you use the original packaging.

How do I get everything back in the tin?

For each Thin Tin, we post photos in the Guides section that show the original arrangement of the contents of the tin. We also provide a small bag with each Thin Tin which can be used for overflow items. For some Thin Tins, we use this bag to provide extra supplies.

Why is the label inside the tin blank?

The open space is provided for you to write your name and contact information just in case the Thin Tin is ever lost. If you take photos of your work to post online, be sure to hide this personal information.

The padded mailer in my delivery was open. Was that a mistake?

No, we intentionally do not seal the bubble mailer so you can use it as a sleeve to protect your tin or re-use it in another way. If you have feedback about the packaging of Thin Tins, please let us know by using the form at the bottom of this page. We’re always looking for ways to improve!

What is the small white disk-shaped item added to my Thin Tin?

It’s a compressed towel. Simply add water and use it to clean up any unplanned messes (like paint from the Travel Chess Set). Having one handy can be useful so we add them whenever there’s space left in the Thin Tin.

What is a spudger?

A spudger is a versatile hand tool approximately 6 inches long made of nylon, plastic or wood, with one end for prying and one end for poking. Spudgers are often used for working on cell phones or computers. For Thin Tins, the spudger is made of nylon and it is what you use to pry the pins off the Micro Pin Weaving loom.
